ITINERARY

We recommend that you arrive the day before the tour starting date. So you will have some time to catch up on sleep and do other preparations, if required. Upon arrival at Chennai International Airport, we will pick up and take you to your 4 Star accommodation.

DAY 1: CHENNAI - KANCHIPURAM

We will start the day with a delicious breakfast and start our pilgrimage.

Mylapore (Thirumayilai) - Lord Kapaleeshwarar Temple: 

• Temple built during the 7th century

 Thiruverkadu - Sri Vedapureeshwarar Temple:

• Lord with his concert in wedding form.

• Lord Vedapureeshwara appeared on the Earth for imparting knowledge on the Sacred Vedas as a spiritual master.

• Four Vedas transformed into a Neem Tree and worshipped Lord Shiva, hence the name Thiruverkadu.

Start to Kanchipuram (1 hr 40 min - 74 kms). Overnight stay at Kanchipuram.

DAY 2: KANCHIPURAM - KUMBAKONAM

Lord Ekambareswarar Temple

• One the tallest gopurams in India

• One of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalams representing earth.

• Lord Shiva in the temple is Swayambumurthi.

Lord Kailasanathar Temple

• Oldest Pallava temple still in existence and is declared an archaeological monument.

Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple

• One of the 51 Shakti Peeths [Sthalapuranam, Legend, Other Miracles to be explained during the pilgrimage]

Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple

• One among 108 Divya Desams [Sthalapuranam, Legend, Other Miracles to be explained during the pilgrimage].

Start to Kumbakonam (5 hrs 5 min - 254 kms). Overnight Stay at Kumbakonam

DAY 3: KUMBAKONAM

Lord Adi Kumbeshwarar Temple

Lord Thenupuriswarar Temple at Patteeswaram

Lord Sri Swaminathaswamy Temple, Swami malai.

• One of the 6 Padai Veedus of Lord Murugan.[Sthalapuranam, Legend, Other Miracles to be explained during the pilgrimage]

Overnight stay at Kumbakonam.

DAY 4: KUMBAKONAM - THANJAVUR - MADURAI

Start to Thanjavur in the morning. (1 hr 12 min - 40 kms)

Lord Brihadeeshwarar Temple

• Darshan at Sri Brihadeeshwarar (Peruvudaiyar) Temple.

Start for Madurai after lunch ( 2 hr 57 min - 190 kms). Overnight stay at Madurai.

DAY 5: MADURAI - RAMESHWARAM

Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple

Sri Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Thiruparankundram

Start to Rameswaram(3 hrs 10 min - 169 kms). Overnight stay at Rameshwaram. 

DAY 6: RAMESHWARAM - TRICHY

Lord Ramanathaswamy Temple

• One among 276 Devara Padal Petra Sthalams [Sthalapuranam, Legend, Other Miracles to be explained during the pilgrimage].

• Local sightseeing at Rameswaram.

Start to Trichy ( 4 hrs 7 min - 231 kms). Overnight stay at Trichy.

DAY 7: TRICHY - CHENNAI

Srirangam Sri Renganathar temple

• It is the foremost of the eight self-manifested shrines (Swayam Vyakta Kshetras) of Lord Vishnu .

• It is also considered the first, foremost and the most important of the 108 main Vishnu temples (Divyadesams).

Start to Chennai post lunch and reach Chennai by night. (5 hrs 20 min - 330 kms).

Note: The above itinerary is personalizable based on the interests and preferences of the traveller. Most of the temples listed in this itinerary are very ancient with a great legend and associated significance.We recommend to visit the mentioned padal petra sthalams, as these temples are around 1000 - 2000 years old and various saints have sung beautiful hymns in praise of the gods here as they had their divine experiences. These wonders stand even today and help us remember our glorious past.
